What Is a Doula?

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional and physical support to the mom during pregnancy, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. Their essential role is to provide continuous labor support (coping mechanisms, labor techniques/positions, encouragement) to the mother, no matter what decisions the mother makes or how she gives birth. A doula does not take the place of your primary support person (i.e. birth partner, spouse, family member), but is an additional support person equipped with skills to provide the care that you need.

Mandy supports all types of birth with doula care- VBAC, medicated, unmedicated, Cesarean, multiples, first time parents, pregnancy after infertility, and surrogacy.

If cost is a concern for you, please reach out! Mandy is willing to barter and work with you to be able to provide doula services. She believes every mom should have access to doula care!
